Job summary

Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to perform basic patient care under licensed supervision. The role supports ambulatory services with essential tasks like measuring vitals, specimen handling, and clerical duties.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 6 months of clinic experience preferred. BLS is required or obtained within 60 days; ND NA registration may be needed for non-CNA applicants.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum of six months’ experience preferred; clinic setting preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. BLS required or within 60 days.
• If in ND and not a CNA, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant within four months.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care services under direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional.
• Take measurements such as height, weight, and blood pressure; screen visual acuity and other basic tests.
• Assist with reception/clerical tasks and patient registries to improve care.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain/clean equipment; dispose of biomedical waste per policy.
• Monitor stock levels of medical inventory and restock or reorder as needed.
