Qualifications

• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam by taking and recording vital signs and documenting chief complaint.
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinate care with pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, scheduling and test results notification.
• Provide clerical support and maintain complete medical records and billing information.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and follow sterilization procedures.
• Order supplies and manage medications and recalls as directed.
• Develop effective communication with patients and staff.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities and simulation training as needed.
• Work under direct supervision of providers and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
