Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting).
• Maintains current BLS certification and various Medical Assistant certifications within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under physician or APP supervision in ambulatory setting.
• Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families.
• Collaborates with administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists physicians/APP during examinations and procedures.
• Documents treatments and patient education per policies.
• Schedules tests and referrals as needed.
• Manages calls and orders in EMR system.
