Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic at Orlando Health in Tampa, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care under physician or APP supervision in the Endocrinology department. Schedule: Mon-Thu 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and Fri 8:00 AM–2:00 PM.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable work experience). Candidate must maintain BLS and MA credentials within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting) required
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification -and- certification from a MA credentialing body within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under the direction and supervision of the physician or APP in an ambulatory care setting.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination and with examination/ procedures as directed.
• Documents treatments, procedures, and patient education according to policies.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff; schedules and coordinates care as needed.
