Job summary

CaroMont Health in Gastonia, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant in Endocrinology for full-time and PRN roles. The position works within the credentialed scope of practice, performing patient prep, lab specimen handling, and coordinating referrals and tests.

Responsibilities include maintaining exam rooms, returning calls to patients and pharmacies, and assisting with front-office tasks as needed. Candidates must have a high school diploma, BLS, and current medical assistant credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required.
• Must maintain current credentialing with AAMA-CMA, AMT-RMA, NCCT-NCMA, NHA-CCMA, NHCWA, ARMA, NAHP, NRMA or NCMA-RCMA.
• Successful completion of approved Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for exams and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms and clinical area; handle lab specimens and requisitions.
• Return phone messages to patients and pharmacies; schedule referrals and authorizations.
• Prepare and perform radiology diagnostics (x-rays) as trained.
• Provide limited front-office clerical support as needed.
