Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support an Endocrinology clinic. Endocrinology experience is preferred.

The CMA provides direct and indirect patient care, performs laboratory testing, and assists with clerical functions under the supervision of a Physician or RN/LPN. You will room patients, collect histories, prepare for procedures, and educate patients as needed.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of recent experience working as a Medical Assistant in a physician office setting or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 or more years of experience as Medical Assistant or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers; addresses questions and concerns promptly.
• Records medical, surgical and family histories, medications and vital signs; prepares patients for procedures and assists staff with examinations.
• Administers injections and medications as directed by physician.
• Performs point-of-care testing and other office procedures such as EKGs and cultures.
