Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Clinical Development Associate Medical Director in the Boston area to lead clinical trial strategy, design, execution, and reporting. You will oversee safety monitoring and integrity across studies, collaborating with Regulatory, Clinical Development Execution and other teams to advance our pipeline.

The role supports additional clinical development projects and may require engagement with external investigators and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree.
• Typically requires 8 years of basic or clinical research experience in an academic or industry setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in study protocol development and key regulatory documents.
• Serves on cross-functional study execution teams for assigned trials.
• Prepares regulatory submissions and safety reports for assigned trials.
• Provides clinical input to study documents, analysis plans and study reports.
• Acts as liaison between Clinical Development and other internal groups.
• Represents Vertex to outside medical personnel in protocol development and study conduct.
