Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room to join our surgical team. You will assess patients, prioritize needs, and provide comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-operative care in a high-stakes environment.

The role requires RN licensure, with preferred certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS) and OR perioperative exposure. We offer competitive pay and strong growth opportunities within Mercy Health.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS and/or PALS may be required within 6 months based on specific surgical department requirements)
• CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred, not required)
• SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and surgical team from a broad perspective and assist the team to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient.
• Responsible for managing the nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinating the needs of the surgical team with other care providers.
• Provides pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessment and discharge instructions.
