Job summary

The State of North Carolina’s Health Benefits division seeks a Financial Analyst II to manage end‑to‑end purchase order processes and allied financial tasks within a hybrid work setting.

You will coordinate with Procurement, AP, and Budget teams, resolve data discrepancies, and contribute to process improvements in a dynamic accounting environment. A Bachelor’s degree and related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or related discipline and 1 year of directly related experience.
• Experience managing the full purchase order lifecycle including encumbrance and coding records in an enterprise financial system.
• Ability to research, track, and resolve financial interface discrepancies and coding errors.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full purchase order lifecycle by creating, adjusting, and ensuring accurate coding and encumbrance tracking across financial units.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Budget staff to resolve workflow issues and maintain continuity across interconnected processes.
• Research, track, and resolve system data discrepancies, including financial interface errors and coding issues.
• Prepare journal vouchers and assist with technical accounting tasks supporting evolving needs.
• Execute specialized quarterly inmate billing processes by reviewing data inputs and ensuring proper system routing.
