Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a hands-on Hardware Engineer to design and bring up rugged, defense-adjacent electronic products from concept through production in Chandler, AZ. Qualifications

• Must have full product cycle experience from design through production and field issues.
• Ground-up PCB design experience required.
• Altium Designer preferred; KiCad/Eagle acceptable for hobbyist background.
• Experience with microprocessor-based digital design and high-speed routing.
• Power electronics experience in the 1–5 kW range is valued.
• Strong hands-on debugging ability across the product lifecycle.
• Comfort with AI-assisted design reviews and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware design end-to-end: schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, bring-up, and production release.
• Design rugged boards for defense-adjacent applications (not high-volume consumer products).
• Collaborate with mechanical and systems engineers for electro-mechanical integrations.
• Work with microprocessor-based designs and high-speed interfaces and buses.
• Design 1–5 kW power electronics and ensure hardware supports firmware efforts.
• Lead client-facing design reviews and provide program updates.
• Embrace AI-assisted design reviews as part of standard workflow.
