Job summary

Forterra seeks a Software Integration Engineer for C2 systems to own end‑to‑end workflows linking the autonomy stack, middleware, and operator control units. You will transition from legacy OCU to a new interface while keeping existing workflows functional in real deployments.

You will support fielded fleets globally, debugging across autonomy, middleware, and networking, and collaborate across teams to ensure reliable command and control in real‑world conditions. Travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. in computer science, engineering, robotics, or related field, or relevant experience.
• Experience with publish/subscribe or message-oriented middleware.
• Familiarity with message schema / interface-definition formats and code generation.
• Willingness to learn how command and control is framed through user interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Own command and control end-to-end across vehicle, middleware, network and OCU.
• Define and evolve system contracts and message schemas for vehicle state, tasks, and commands.
• Bridge autonomy and middleware, translating telemetry and state into operator actions.
• Contribute to operator-facing interfaces and support both legacy and new interfaces.
