Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Austin, TX is seeking a Building Enclosure Staff Associate to support a Southwest Building Science + Infrastructure team. You will gain hands-on field experience in investigations, testing, analysis, and reporting while collaborating with experienced consultants.

You will learn to interpret drawings, participate in CAD drafting, and contribute to testing protocols and field reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Architecture (NCARB).
0 years of related experience required.
Certifications may be required depending on testing; EIT and IIBEC certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

Support building science & infrastructure testing, inspections, and consulting services.
Conduct site observations and inspections of roofing and enclosure systems with guidance from senior staff.
Learn to interpret drawings and site plans; assist with drafting/CAD work.
Assist with testing protocols and development of testing procedures.
Document site observations and prepare field reports describing findings and conditions.
Assist with analysis of field observations and testing results to support project conclusions.
Develop familiarity with IBC and local codes related to enclosure systems.
