Encapsys (www.encapsys.com), now a part of Milliken & Company (www.milliken.com) is looking to hire student co-ops for the 2027 calendar year to join our team in Appleton, WI. This is a competitively paid co-op position being offered to students in a Chemical Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, or Chemistry program. Encapsys operates in the specialty chemicals industry. Holding over 75 encapsulation patents, Encapsys is a global leader in encapsulation technologies within two primary business segments - Fragrance and Agriculture. Encapsys operates highly scalable encapsulation processes that deliver superior products.

Encapsys takes pride in providing co-ops with opportunities to build strong resumes through matching individual interests with available projects. Co-ops will work on both collaborative and independent projects in conjunction with the engineer/scientist project leaders. Each co-op is assigned a mentor to provide guidance through the processes of training, developing, and contributing.

Process Engineering plays a vital role in our ability to take products and processes from lab and pilot size trials and see them through to full-scale manufacturing processes in a timely and cost-effective manner. The team works closely with R&D and Manufacturing teams from project inception to commercialization. These teams work together on new product and process development, cost reduction, product line extensions, equipment design, scale up, and exploration/development of new technologies.

Typical process design duties include:

• Designing, planning and conducting lab and pilot scale experiments
• Testing products
• Organizing and executing project plans
• Supporting the encapsulation scientists and process design engineers on pilot or production equipment during experimental trials
• Involvement in the day-to-day operations of an agriculture encapsulation plant as a process engineer
• Participation in project work, daily duties, production meetings, and production-scale trials

Education, experience, and qualifications:

• Educational background includes individuals earning their B.S. with at least a 3.00 GPA in any of the following programs, rising Juniors and Seniors preferred:
• Chemical Engineering
• Chemistry
• Material Science/Engineering
