Job summary

Medical City Plano, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an EMT Coordinator to manage transfer center functions, patient placement, and coordination of transfers across facilities. You will collaborate with physicians and hospital teams to ensure timely bed placement and accurate information flow.

Ideal candidates have EMT certification, strong communication skills, and experience in a hospital or call center setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical or hospital experience; ED/acute hospital preferred.
• Call Center/Transfer Center experience preferred.
• EMT certificate required; EMTALA knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Performs transfer center functions with centralized patient placement.
• Coordinates transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to final destination facilities.
• Maintains accurate data in patient records and workflow systems.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses, and hospital admins to facilitate admissions.
• Triages and prioritizes patient information for accepting physicians.
