• 1 year of EMT Basic experience preferred.
• Licensed in Louisiana as an EMT/B.
• National Registry of EMTs EMT/B certification.
• Chauffer’s license or equivalent required.
• Defensive Driving.
• Haz-Mat.
• BCLS Certification.

Responsabilités

• Responds to dispatch information and drives specialized emergency vehicles to locations.
• Stabilizes patients by extricating and providing first aid; relays status to medical personnel.
• Uses medical equipment (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction) to provide advanced medical care.
• Recognizes health changes and adjusts treatment as needed.
• Maintains and sanitizes vehicles and equipment; uses PPE when cleaning spills.
• Documents patient care and billing information for each call.

GENERAL DUTIES

Responds to dispatch information and drives specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations within applicable norms.

Stabilizes ill or injured persons by extricating ill or injured person, rendering first aid and relaying ill or injured person status to medical personnel.

Utilizes medical equipment and procedures including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures and medications as required to provide advanced medical care.

Recognizes any deviations or changes in the patient's health due to the patient's condition and from the treatment provided.

Maintains vehicle/supplies, communications equipment and medical equipment in accordance with applicable standards.

Keeps vehicles and equipment clean, organized, stocked and sanitized before each trip. Uses proper PPE when sanitizing or cleaning spills.

Utilizes and operates appropriate communications equipment, medical equipment, cleaning equipment, office equipment and tools.

Documents activities with regard to patient care and billing completely to ensure appropriate information is available regarding each call.

Experience Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a EMT Basic preferred.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.

• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as an EMT/B
• Licensed in Louisiana as an EMT/B
• Current Chauffer’s license or equivalent
