Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking an Emergency Room nurse to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in our Louisiana facilities. You will coordinate care touchpoints, monitor patient status, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, efficient throughput and outstanding patient experiences.

Ideal candidates hold Louisiana RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC where applicable, and have ER nursing knowledge. Will consider new grads with CPIs and onboarding timelines.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications (New grad must obtain within 6 months).
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only).
• ENPC (can substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs).

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families and care team members during significant events or changes.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, throughput, communications and exceptional patient experience.
• Advise supervisor when unable to complete tasks promptly or safely.
• Educate patients and families using appropriate resources and services.

Your Everyday

Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.

Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.

Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.

Prevent and treat wounds.

Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.

Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.

Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.

Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services. Address patient questions and concerns.

Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

• Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications.(New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only)
• ENPC (can be substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs)

Preferred:

• Emergency Room experience and ER nursing knowledge
