Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking an EMT-Basic to deliver high-quality basic life support in prehospital settings and support West Jefferson Medical Center staff during emergency care of sick and injured patients. You will take patient histories, perform exams, control bleeding, manage airways, and work under the hospital physician's protocols to ensure prompt, safe care.

This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent (or 2 years of experience), and active BLS/EMT-Basic credentials with a valid

The EMT Basic is responsible for providing highest quality basic life support in a prehospital setting and augments the various hospital emergency department staffs in the emergency care of the sick and injured. The EMT Basic provides assessment and treatment to patients of all ages in an innumerable variety of environmentally uncontrolled settings in which injury and permanent disability to the EMT are possible. The EMT Basic takes histories, performs physical exams, controls bleeding, provides airway control, restores and maintains circulation. They provide care consistent with the general standard of care under the authority of the department's leading physician and according to the treatment protocols as issued approved by the hospital.

Education/Experience Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience.
