Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a qualified EMT to deliver emergency medical care in prehospital and hospital settings. You will operate an EMS vehicle, assess patients, provide basic life support, and transport to appropriate care facilities.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, PA EMT license, and may have six months of prehospital experience. ITLS/PHTLS/ABLS/ASLS certifications and CPR are preferred; clearance requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PA EMT license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the EMT level
• Preferred six months’ experience in the field of prehospital care.
• ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS are preferred certifications.

Responsibilities

• Drives emergency vehicle.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provides basic life support and transport to the critically ill and injured in the prehospital setting.
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Education

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent

PA EMT license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the EMT level

Six months’ experience in prehospital care (preferred)

ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS certifications
