Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks qualified EMS personnel to provide emergency medical care in the prehospital environment. You will operate EMS vehicles, assess patient conditions, and administer basic and advanced life support during treatment and transport.

Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or GED, PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege, and medical command eligibility. 5 years’ related experience and current preceptor status are preferred for the Prehospital Response

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination
For Prehospital Response Unit 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status
Medical Command eligible; PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level, or licensed PHRN

Responsibilities

Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)
Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
