Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Lead Electrical Analytical Engineer with deep expertise in Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) analysis for power systems. The role focuses on Transient Over-Voltage (TOV), Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), switching studies, and insulation coordination, utilizing PSCAD or EMTP-RV.
The candidate will lead time-domain analyses, develop innovative solutions, and mentor others in modern engineering tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering (Power/Power Systems)
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 12+ years in time-domain analysis of power systems
- Proficiency with PSCAD or EMTP-RV for complex calculations
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed electrical analysis using time-domain techniques to evaluate system performance and identify issues.
- Perform complex calculations related to TOV, TRV, switching studies, and insulation coordination.
- Develop and implement solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams providing technical expertise in electrical analysis and troubleshooting.
- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting findings, recommendations, and design modifications.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to time-domain analysis.
