Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Harlingen Medical Center is seeking an EMT-Paramedic for per diem evening shifts (9:00am-9:00pm) to assess and manage emergencies under ER staff supervision. The role entails 12-hour shifts with on-site collaboration with nurses and physicians.

ER experience is preferred; active EMT-P, ACLS, PALS, and BCLS are required at hire. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessment and basic trauma/medical management, contributing to timely, quality care.

Qualifications

• EMT-P registration is required at hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications must be current.
• BCLS certification required and maintained.
• ER experience preferred.

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, Texas

Responsibilities

The EMT-Paramedic is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician. Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under the direct supervision of the ER Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

1. Basic EMT-P Registry (Required)
2. E.R. experience preferred
3. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current (required)
4. CPI within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually
5. ACLS certification upon hire and maintain current (required)
6. PALS certification upon hire and maintain current (required)
