Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time MICU Driver in Columbus, OH. The role requires an valid Ohio driver’s license, auto insurance, and EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate certification. EVOC preferred. You will transport/assist in the Transport Program, perform vehicle checks, and help with records and scheduling.

The position includes on-call rotations and 36 hours per week with a $500 sign-on bonus prorated by FTE. Prior pediatric transport experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid Ohio driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • State of Ohio EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate certification required.
  • EVOC or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 1 year driving emergency vehicles experience.
  • Pediatric patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety of fleet, cargo, and passengers per guidelines.
  • Assist in planning transport team activities and office duties as needed.
  • Perform daily inspections, briefings, inventory, and documentation.
  • Support patient care within scope and transport team protocols.
  • Participate in unit committees and projects to grow the program.

Pay will commensurate with experience; **$500 sign on bonus!** The Bonus is Prorated based on your FTE!**Schedule:** Rotating Days & Nights (12-hour shifts), Every Third Weekend & Holiday Requirement, 36 hrs./week**\\*Mandatory on call shifts will be 2-3 days per 6-week schedule**Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.**Job Description Summary:**Provides transportation and support to the Transport Program and fleet of ambulances. Assists in maintaining all requested department, state, and national data collection and records. On call hours required.**Job Description:****Essential Functions:*** Maintains safety of fleet, cargo, and passengers in accordance with hospital guidelines.* Assists with the planning of the transport team activities in accordance with established written guidelines, policies, and procedures. Assist with office duties as requested.* The driver will provide cleaning and minor maintenance, daily inspection, daily shift briefings, inventory, cleaning, and documentation for department and state requirements.* Continually evaluates methods of practice, recommends changes and modifications to improve the department and patient outcomes.* Actively participates in the unit committees and projects to assure daily operation and growth of the Transport Program.* Functions as a resource to referral staff, Nationwide Children’s staff, and the community.* Assists team with patient care as defined in scope of practice and in accordance with Transport Team protocols.**Education Requirement:**As required by listed licensure and/or certification requirement.**Licensure Requirement:**Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements.
