Job summary

Wellpath in Texas seeks an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide essential medical care to inmate patients in the correctional facility. This role performs initial medical examinations at intake and responds to everyday medical issues with urgency and professionalism.

You will be accountable for CPR, documenting medical history, maintaining equipment, protecting patient confidentiality under HIPAA, and collaborating with physicians and jail staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Requires completion of an EMT or Paramedic course.
• Unrestricted current state certification/registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical response and basic life support to inmate patients in the facility, using CPR and equipment.
• Assess and document medical history and treatment of inmate patients; administer prescribed treatments as needed.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment for examinations and assist physicians during procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers, jail administration and patients; willing to assist in duties and overtime.
