Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an EMT trainee to support emergency medical care delivery. You will learn to follow departmental policies, read maps, and operate EMT equipment, with a focus on safety and effective communication.

Expect to commit to 12 weeks of full-time training, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. A strong emphasis on exam readiness and teamwork is required for success.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED, at least eighteen.
• Current AHA CPR and First Aid preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read manuals, maps, and instructions.
• Strong English communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies and instructions in emergency medical care delivery.
• Read and retain information in rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Learn to read GIS data, interpret maps, and operate EMT equipment.
• Identify hazards and follow safety procedures.
• Participate in practical sessions and analyze emergencies to determine actions.
• Maintain 70% average or better to qualify for registry exam.
• Complete all assignments and work well in a team.
