We are currently hiring for a position in the Department of Emergency Services. The role reports to the Chief of Emergency Medical Services and involves providing firefighting and/or basic life support emergency medical services. Responsibilities include driving firefighting apparatus or an ambulance, communicating with dispatch, patients, families, and healthcare professionals, conducting public education on first aid and fire safety, and performing administrative and maintenance tasks as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent. Current Maryland and National certifications as required, along with any additional certifications. Experience in responding to emergencies, supervisory experience in fire or EMS, or relevant volunteer emergency response experience is beneficial. Must have map reading skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to work well with diverse personnel, and maintain confidentiality. Valid Driver’s License and eligibility for County insurance coverage are required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
This is a non-exempt Bargaining Unit position with a wage of $19.03 per hour, including a comprehensive benefits package with health and life insurance, paid leave, and pension.
