Job summary

Lantern Hill by Erickson Senior Living in New Providence, NJ, is seeking a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) to implement our security and emergency programs and provide community outreach. The role carries per diem scheduling with on‑site duties at a gated retirement community.

Compensation ranges from $19.00 to $23.00 per hour, with an extra $1.00/hour for EMT certification. Prior EMS/security experience is preferred; CPR/EMR certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Current Emergency Medical Responder certification; EMR with hire by 30 days.
• Prior Security and/or EMS experience preferred.
• Proactive, vigilant and detail‑oriented with quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular patrols of the property and respond to calls for service.
• Provide relief staffing for the gatehouse and respond to emergencies.
• Enforce traffic and parking regulations.
• Respond to medical emergencies with basic interventions.
• Follow up on reports of missing items, theft, vandalism, or potential crime.
• Coordinate with local police, fire, and EMS during emergencies.
• Complete detailed incident reports using the online system.

Location: Lantern Hill by Erickson Senior Living

Join our team as a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) at our gated retirement community. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing our Security and Emergency Services programs and providing outreach within the community.

How you will make an impact

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide efficient care utilizing all basic interventions
• Follow up on reports of missing items, theft, vandalism, and other potential criminal activity
• Utilize local police, fire, and EMS; effectively during emergencies.
• Complete thorough and detailed incident reports using our online report system

What you will need

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience in Security and/or Emergency Medical Services is preferred.
• Proactive, vigilant and detail-oriented approaches with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Current Emergency Medical Responder certification. (Higher level certification/licensure is acceptable as a condition of hire, however, new hires will be required to obtain EMR certification within 30 days).
