Job summary

Lantern Hill by Erickson Senior Living in New Providence, NJ, seeks a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) to implement security programs and engage with residents and staff. This role emphasizes rapid emergency response, incident reporting, and proactive safety outreach within a gated community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required.
• EMR certification required within 30 days; higher certifications acceptable.
• Prior Security and/or Emergency Medical Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular patrols of the property and relief staffing for the gatehouse.
• Respond to emergency and routine calls for service.
• Enforce traffic and parking regulations.
• Respond to medical emergencies with basic interventions.
• Document incidents in the online report system.

Location: Lantern Hill by Erickson Senior Living

Join our team as a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) at our gated retirement community. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing our Security and Emergency Services programs and providing outreach within the community.

• Compensation: Between $19.00 - $23.00 per hour. Additional $1.00/hour with an EMT certification. Commensurate with experience.

How you will make an impact

• Perform regular patrols of the property, provide relief staffing for the gatehouse, and respond to emergency and routine calls for service
• Enforce all traffic and parking regulations
• Respond to calls for service from dispatch and security
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide efficient care utilizing all basic interventions
• Follow up on reports of missing items, theft, vandalism, and other potential criminal activity
• Utilize local police, fire, and EMS; effectively during emergencies.
• Complete thorough and detailed incident reports using our online report system

What you will need

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience in Security and/or Emergency Medical Services is preferred.
• Proactive, vigilant and detail-oriented approaches with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Current Emergency Medical Responder certification. (Higher level certification/licensure is acceptable as a condition of hire, however, new hires will be required to obtain EMR certification within 30 days).
