Job summary

Lantern Hill by Erickson Senior Living in New Providence, NJ, is seeking a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) to implement our security and emergency services programs and perform community outreach. The role includes patrols, incident response, and enforcing traffic regulations.

Qualifications include 18+, a valid driver’s license, CPR for Healthcare Providers, and EMR certification. Per diem schedule with compensation of $19–$23 per hour, plus $1/hour with EMT; full benefits

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Current Emergency Medical Responder certification; higher level acceptable and must obtain EMR within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular patrols of the property and respond to calls for service.
• Enforce all traffic and parking regulations.
• Respond to calls for service from dispatch and security.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic care.
• Follow up on reports of missing items, theft, vandalism or other potential criminal activity.
• Coordinate with local police, fire, and EMS during emergencies.
• Complete incident reports using the online report system.

Job description

Location: Lantern Hill by Erickson Senior Living

Join our team as a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) at our gated retirement community. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing our Security and Emergency Services programs and providing outreach within the community.

How you will make an impact

• Perform regular patrols of the property, provide relief staffing for the gatehouse, and respond to emergency and routine calls for service
• Enforce all traffic and parking regulations
• Respond to calls for service from dispatch and security
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide efficient care utilizing all basic interventions
• Follow up on reports of missing items, theft, vandalism, and other potential criminal activity
• Utilize local police, fire, and EMS; effectively during emergencies.
• Complete thorough and detailed incident reports using our online report system

What you will need

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience in Security and/or Emergency Medical Services is preferred.
• Proactive, vigilant and detail-oriented approaches with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Current Emergency Medical Responder certification. (Higher level certification/licensure is acceptable as a condition of hire, however, new hires will be required to obtain EMR certification within 30 days).
