Position Overview: The primary goal of an EMT is to provide safe, compassionate ambulance and medical transportation, preserving patients' dignity and ensuring community safety. Responsibilities include non-emergency patient transfers, community event standby, and emergency response to assist in immediate care and transport at the level of training and authorization.

Essential Job Functions:

• Attend orientation, EMS operations, compliance, emergency vehicle operation training, and maintain certification.
• Provide out-of-hospital care and safe transport according to protocols and medical direction.
• Lift, carry, and balance loads up to 250 lbs with assistance, and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and other agencies.
• Inspect and maintain EMS equipment and ambulance readiness.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist other personnel as needed.
• Participate in community events and handle hazardous material incidents at the first responder level.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of EMS operations and equipment.
• Ability to learn through training and understand community layouts.
• Obtain skills such as airway management, CPR, and trauma care.
• Must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and valid driver's license with a good record.
• Pass background checks, drug screening, and maintain necessary certifications including CPR and EMT-8.
• Proof of vaccinations for TB and Hepatitis.

Working Environment/Conditions: EMS work is 24/7, in all weather conditions, requiring readiness to respond at a moment's notice. EMS personnel must be physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared for diverse situations, maintaining safety, professionalism, and compassion.
