Job summary

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is seeking a trained EMT to join our Emergency Vehicle Operations team. You will communicate patient conditions, operate life-safety equipment, and transport patients under supervisor guidance.

The role emphasizes timely documentation and adherence to SOPs. This full-time daytime position in Florida requires EMT certification, BLS, and a valid driver's license; prior ambulance transport experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• EMT certification and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates delays and updates to dispatch and reports any damage or vehicle issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Adheres to SOPs and ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance at all times.
• Communicates findings and patient conditions to nurses, paramedics, and personnel.
• Assists crew with setup and preparation of ventilator, cardiac monitor, IV line, and pumps.
• Responsible for charting documentation and patient care with BLS patients.
• Provides receiving staff with a full patient report.
• Monitors patient conditions and aggregates data.
• Completes patient care record within 24 hrs.
• Assists with patient mobilization, ambulation, and transport.
• Maintains equipment between transports and keeps the unit in a constant state of readiness.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely in various weather and emergent conditions according to established safety standards.
• Utilizes appropriate medical equipment and comprehends injury/medical severity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
