AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL is hiring EMTs to join our emergency transport team. You will communicate patient conditions, assist with monitors and IVs, document care, and transport patients while maintaining safety and readiness of equipment.

Strong preference for EMT certification and Basic Life Support, with 2+ years of emergency vehicle operations experience. Day shifts and full-time schedules available at our Wesley Chapel facility.

Qualifications

• Clear communication of patient conditions, status and ETA to receiving facilities.
• Ability to analyze data and equipment operations for accurate reporting.
• Ability to determine life-threatening conditions and take appropriate action.

Responsabilités

• Assist with setup and preparation of ventilators, monitors, IV lines and pumps.
• Provide patient care and chart documentation within required timeframes.
• Report patient status to nurses, paramedics and dispatch.
• Transport patients and ensure safe operation of emergency vehicles.
• Maintain readiness of equipment and supplies between transports.

Job Description

• Communicates delays and updates to dispatch and reports any damage or vehicle issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Adheres to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance at all times.
• Communicates findings and patient conditions to aligned registered nurses, paramedics, and personnel.
• Assists crew with set up and preparation of ventilator, cardiac monitor, IV line, and pumps.
• Responsible for charting documentation and patient care with BLS patients.
• Provides receiving staff with a full patient report.
• Monitors patient conditions and aggregates data.
• Completes patient care record within state allotted time (24 hrs).
• Assists with patient mobilization, ambulation, and transport.
• Maintains equipment between transports and keeps the unit in a constant state of readiness.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely in various weather and emergent conditions according to established safety standards.
• Utilizes appropriate medical equipment and comprehends injury/medical severity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to clearly communicate patient conditions, status, and arrival times with medical care facilities that receive patients [Required]
• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operations, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
• Ability to determine life threatening conditions [Required]
• Provides appropriate emergency care and transports the patient, when necessary [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Qualifications

• Education: Associate [Preferred]
• Field of Study: in a health-related field
• Graduated from an EMT program
• Work Experience: 1+ year of experience emergency vehicle operations [Preferred]
• Work Experience: 2+ years of technical experience [Preferred]
• Work Experience: Ambulance transport experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]
• OR EMT-Advanced (EMT-A) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
• OR Commercial Drivers License (CDL) [Required]
• Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) [Preferred]
• OR Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) [Preferred]
