AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is hiring an Emergency Medical Technician/Transport specialist. You will operate emergency vehicles, assist with medical equipment setup, and ensure accurate patient documentation for transport to care facilities.

The role requires EMT certification, BLS, a valid driver's license (DL or CDL), and prior EMS experience. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and a faith-based mission focus.

Qualifications

• Ability to clearly communicate patient conditions, status, and arrival times with receiving facilities.
• Ability to analyze data and patient information to ensure accurate reporting.
• Read, write and speak conversational English; basic computer skills and MS Office.
• Must be able to operate medical equipment and monitor patient conditions.

Responsibilities

• Communicates delays and updates to dispatch and reports any vehicle issues.
• Ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
• Communicates findings and patient conditions to nurses, paramedics, and staff.
• Assists with setup of ventilator, cardiac monitor, IV, and pumps.
• Performs patient care and records within required timeframes.
• Provides full patient report to receiving staff and transports as needed.
• Maintains unit readiness and safety during transport.

Job Description

• Communicates delays and updates to dispatch and reports any damage or vehicle issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Adheres to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance at all times.
• Communicates findings and patient conditions to aligned registered nurses, paramedics, and personnel.
• Assists crew with set up and preparation of ventilator, cardiac monitor, IV line, and pumps.
• Responsible for charting documentation and patient care with BLS patients.
• Provides receiving staff with a full patient report.
• Monitors patient conditions and aggregates data.
• Completes patient care record within state allotted time (24 hrs).
• Assists with patient mobilization, ambulation, and transport.
• Maintains equipment between transports and keeps the unit in a constant state of readiness.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely in various weather and emergent conditions according to established safety standards.
• Utilizes appropriate medical equipment and comprehends injury/medical severity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to clearly communicate patient conditions, status, and arrival times with medical care facilities that receive patients [Required]
• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operations, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
• Ability to determine life threatening conditions [Required]
• Provides appropriate emergency care and transports the patient, when necessary [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education

• Associate [Preferred]
• Field of Study: in a health-related field
• Graduated from an EMT program

Work Experience

• 1+ year of experience emergency vehicle operations [Preferred]
• 2+ years of technical experience [Preferred]
• Ambulance transport experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required] OR EMT-Advanced (EMT-A) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required] OR Commercial Drivers License (CDL) [Required]
• Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) [Preferred] OR Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) [Preferred]
