Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Monitor Tech with pre-hospital paramedic experience to perform 12-lead EKGs, initiate cardiac monitoring, and assist with procedures. You will follow CDC isolation guidelines, enforce safety, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse settings.

Eligible clinicians may earn up to 20% salary increases through the Clinical Ladder program based on experience and achievement. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Attach and complete 12-lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring and notify nurse of abnormalities.
• Perform venipuncture for testing and manage IVs.
• Maintain IV flow rates and monitor infusion sites.
• Assist physicians or nurses during procedures and exams.
• Follow safety and PPE policies and CDC isolation guidelines.
• Provide patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity and culture.
• Transport patients as directed by licensed personnel.
• Support a caring and compassionate patient experience.

Job Description:

Eligible clinicians have the opportunity to earn salary increases of up to 20%* through our Clinical Ladder Program based on experience, professional development, and achievement of advancement criteria. Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines. Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty. Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities. Performs venipuncture for testing and inserts peripheral IVs, hang IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates. Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and remove IV lines as directed by registered nurse. Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams. Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of personal protective equipment, perform hand washing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations. Champions customer service by keeping patients informed, providing updates, and demonstrating caring and compassion. Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Transports patients as directed by licensed personnel. Other duties as assigned.
