Job summary

St. Joseph Health in Brazos Valley is seeking an EMT to perform essential patient care in an outpatient setting. You will handle patient intake, vital signs, allergies and medications review, specimen collection, and administer vaccines and medications as ordered.

You will also ensure exam room readiness, complete safety checklists, and escalate non-routine issues promptly while maintaining clean, stocked environments and following established workflows for efficient operations.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• CPR/BLS certification with alignment timelines (CPR within 14 days).
• EMD certification or dispatcher experience within 6 months (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive patient intake, vital signs, allergies medication checks, and visit documentation.
• Collect and prepare specimens, administer medications and vaccines as ordered.
• Maintain exam room readiness and safety checklists; escalate non-routine issues promptly.
• Assist with dispatch operations for Ambulance, Wheelchair Van & Support Vehicle; audit CAD logs.
• Maintain proficiency in required communications software and coordinate with Billing on pre-transport screening and regulatory updates.
