St. Joseph Health in the Brazos Valley seeks a dedicated EMT to provide general patient care in an outpatient clinic, following established workflows to ensure efficient and high‑quality service.

You will perform comprehensive intake duties, include vitals, allergies, medications verification, collect specimens, administer ordered meds and vaccines, prepare exam rooms, and complete safety checklists with careful attention to protocol and safety.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
  • Emergency Medical Dispatchers training within 6 months is expected.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assures proper utilization of vehicular resources to ensure prompt completion of service requests.
  • Inspects communication equipment for operational requirements; repairs within scope and reports deficiencies.
  • Receives and enters call/patient information into the computerized dispatch system; maintains dispatch accountability.
  • Maintains proficiency in communications software required for daily operations and coordinates with the Billing Coordinator on screening information and regulations.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our EMT, you will perform essential general patient care, meticulously following established clinic workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery within an outpatient setting.

Every day you will complete comprehensive patient intake duties, including obtaining vital signs, verifying allergies and medications, and documenting reasons for visits. You'll also collect and prepare specimens, administer ordered medications and vaccines, clean and sterilize instruments, ensure exam room readiness, and meticulously complete safety checklists, escalating any non-routine issues promptly.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, efficiency, and safety, adeptly managing all intake processes and supporting clinical operations. Your ability to meticulously follow protocols, maintain a clean and stocked environment, and proactively address concerns will be crucial for exceptional patient experiences.

  • Assures proper utilization of vehicular resources to assure prompt completion of requests for services.
  • Inspects communication equipment for operational requirements, repairs equipment within scope of abilities, reports needed maintenance and/or deficiencies to relief and supervisor.
  • Receives and enters call/patient information into computerized dispatch system.
  • Provides dispatch accountability for all services (Ambulance, Wheelchair Van & Support Vehicle) during assigned shift, auditing daily CAD log to reflect ePRC to assure completion of data.
  • Maintains proficiency in Communications computer software required for daily operations.
  • Consults with Billing Coordinator referencing necessary pre-transport screening patient information, Medicare and Medicaid Laws/Guidelines updates, and other contractual obligations for services.
Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School GED or
