Job summary

GW MFA in Washington, DC, seeks an Operations Specialist-EMT to staff the 24/7 telemedicine and communications center. You will facilitate telemedical interactions, document medical communications, and support inbound calls from ships, aircraft, and remote sites.

The role requires an EMT certification with CPR for healthcare providers, strong computer skills, and excellent verbal and written communication. Weekend/night shifts may apply; night differential described.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current and valid BLS, NREMT and AHA/ASHE CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an emergency response position such as EMT-B or a communications center.
• Strong working knowledge of basic computer systems, particularly Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate telemedical interactions between patients/clients and medical providers.
• Document and accurately scribe medical communications.
• Follow up with patients/clients as needed.
• Work toward solutions to client issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Prioritize job duties while providing excellent customer service.
