Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking an EMT Basic to provide high quality basic life support in prehospital settings and support hospital ED staff. You will take histories, perform exams, control bleeding, provide airway management, and help restore circulation under the supervision of the department's physician and per hospital protocols.

A Louisiana EMT-Basic license and BLS/CPR certification are required. Days shifts available at West Jefferson Medical Center, part of LCMC Health.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED or 2 years of work experience.
• Current EMT-Basic certification (Louisiana) required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR, BLS) certification required.
• Valid Louisiana Driver's License Class D.
• Defensive Driving Certification.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Basic (NREMT-Basic).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality basic life support in prehospital settings and assist ED staff.
• Assess and treat patients of all ages in uncontrolled environments.
• Take patient histories, perform physical exams, control bleeding, manage airways, and restore and maintain circulation.
