Job summary

Forsyth County Emergency Services is hiring EMTs to provide basic medical care at the scene and during transport. EMTs drive advanced life support vehicles, deliver patient care, and operate under NC EMS guidelines with emphasis on safe driving and compassionate interaction with patients and the public.

The role requires EMT-Basic certification, a valid North Carolina driver’s license, and the ability to lift heavy loads; on-call readiness and continuous training are part of duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus EMS care courses.
• EMT-Basic certification by NC Office of EMS.
• Valid NC driver's license.
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads (120+ lbs).

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls as ambulance driver/attendant and transport to facilities.
• Administer medications and EMT-Basic procedures as permitted.
• Maintain ambulance, equipment and supplies in good working order.
• Participate in ongoing EMT training and ambulance operations.
• Give talks on emergency medical services at schools and tours of station.
