Job summary

First-Care in Cincinnati is seeking an EMT-Basic to join its emergency medical team. You will provide emergency medical care and transportation, assist higher-certified technicians, and support non-emergency transport as needed.

This entry-level role requires a valid driver's license, EMT-Basic and BLS CPR certifications, and the ability to pass background and motor vehicle checks. You will complete required training and reciprocity steps to serve across Indiana or Kentucky as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• EMT-Basic Certification.
• Current BLS CPR Certification.
• Pass Criminal Background Check.
• Pass Motor Vehicle Report.
• Pass Annual Physical Requirements.
• Pass NIMS-required education within 60 days of the start of employment.
• Complete Ambulance Operations Training.
• Complete Stretcher and Stair Chair Training.
• Obtain EMS reciprocity with the State of Indiana and/or the State of Kentucky if required for operational assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care and transportation.
• Assist higher certified technicians, including paramedics, in treatment of patients.
• The EMT will satisfactorily perform all skills and procedures as designated by the EMS Commission curriculum.
• Respond to EMS calls as assigned by the communications center.
• Follow First-Care policies and treat all customers with honesty and respect.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per privacy policies.
• Account for, inspect, and certify operability of all required basic equipment before each shift.
• Maintain in-service education as prescribed by the State EMS Agency.
• Operate assigned vehicles safely and in accordance with policies.
• Submit documentation that is complete, accurate, and timely prior to leaving shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor.
