Job summary

ConvenientMD is seeking an EMT-B to join our urgent care team in Massachusetts, delivering high-quality patient care across New England. You will support clinical operations, triage patients, take vital signs, document in EHRs, and collaborate with providers to ensure smooth discharge planning.

The role requires a National EMT license and BLS, with 12-hour shift options (full-time, part-time, or per diem) and travel to up to other ConvenientMD locations within a one-hour radius when needed.

Qualifications

• EMT-B certification and state license required.

• Must have at least 1 year as EMT (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients in a welcoming, professional manner and provide information on medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
• Explain prescribed medications, dosages, and potential adverse reactions.
• Guide on lifestyle modifications, preventive care, and follow-up.
• Triages patients and assesses urgency of medical needs.
• Take vitals, obtain histories, and assist with minor procedures.
• Document patient information and maintain EHRs per privacy laws.

Your Impact

• Patient Interaction: Engage with patients in a welcoming and professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing information regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
• Explain prescribed medications, including dosage instructions and potential adverse reactions.
• Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, preventive healthcare measures, and follow-up care.
• Address patient questions and concerns to ensure they have a clear understanding of their health status and treatment options.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Support clinical operations and patient care.
• Conduct preliminary evaluations to triage patients and determine the urgency of their medical needs.
• Perform basic clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and assisting with minor procedures.
• Document patient information accurately, maintaining electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Collaboration with Clinical Team: Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
• Communicate effectively with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
• Collaborate with providers on discharge plans and support discharge processes.

Required Availability

• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive and/or non-consecutive days:
• Full-time: three (3) 12-hour shifts per week with at least four (4) shifts per month on a Saturday or Sunday.
• Part-time: two (2) 12-hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts per month on a Saturday or Sunday.
• Per diem: four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, ideally one shift per week.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays.
• If needed, must be able to travel to three (3) other ConvenientMD locations within a one-hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
• Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one-hour commute.

Who You Are

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification or demonstrated prior experience: Nationally certified and licensed EMT with at least one (1) year as an EMT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. We do not accept CPR, ACLS, or online-only classes.

• Technically savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with or ability to learn Experity and other systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• 1-2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred.

Pay Transparency

To maintain equity, ConvenientMD has defined hourly pay ranges for each role. Individual pay is determined based on location, experience, market conditions, and budget considerations. The pay range listed reflects potential compensation for this region. Final compensation is determined at the conclusion of the interview process.

Hourly Pay Range for this Position: $17.14 - $26.99 USD
