Job summary

ConvenientMD in Massachusetts is seeking an EMT-B to join our urgent care team, delivering high-quality patient care across New England. You will work with clinicians and staff to triage patients, take vitals, document care, and explain medications and treatment options.

The role requires EMT-B certification, BLS, a HS diploma, and flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and travel to nearby ConvenientMD locations within one hour.

The Opportunity

ConvenientMD is seeking a dedicated EMT‑B to join our growing healthcare team, delivering exceptional urgent care to patients across New England. This role offers a unique opportunity for EMTs to expand their clinical skills, working closely with providers and clinical staff to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Your Impact
  • Patient Interaction: Engage with patients in a welcoming and professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing assistance and information regarding their medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
    • Explain prescribed medications, including dosage instructions and potential adverse reactions.
    • Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, preventive healthcare measures, and follow‑up care.
    • Address patient questions and concerns to ensure they have a clear understanding of their health status and treatment options.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Support clinical operations and patient care.
    • Conduct preliminary evaluations to triage patients and determine the urgency of their medical needs.
    • Perform basic clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and assisting with minor medical procedures.
    • Document patient information accurately, maintaining electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Collaboration with Clinical Team: Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
    • Collaborate with providers on discharge plans and may help with discharge.
    • Welcome and support the training of new team clinic team members.
Required Availability
  • Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts in consecutive and/or non‑consecutive days:
    • Full‑time: 3 shifts per week with at least 4 shifts per month on a Saturday or Sunday.
    • Part‑time: 2 shifts per week with at least 2 shifts per month on a Saturday or Sunday.
    • Per diem: 4 shifts per month, ideally one per week.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work at a minimum of three other ConvenientMD locations within a one‑hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
  • Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one‑hour commute.
Who You Are
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification: Nationally certified and licensed EMT with at least one year as an EMT.
  • BLS Certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification (CPR, ACLS, or online only classes not accepted).

  • Excellent team player: Enjoys collaborating with others and being part of a strong team dynamic.
  • Technically savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; experience with or ability to learn Experity and other business systems.
Bonus Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred.
Pay Transparency

Hourly Pay Range: $17.14 – $26.99 USD
