Job summary

Tyler Junior College is seeking an EMT Basic Skills Laboratory Assistant to support hands-on labs and scenario-based learning in alignment with NREMT and NHTSA standards. The role ensures clinical realism, lab safety, and achievement of program outcomes while fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include leading demonstrations, coaching students, maintaining equipment, and upholding professional standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required.
• Minimum 6 months of current EMT-B field experience.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician - Basic credential required.
• NREMT EMT-B preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead demonstrations to students during EMT basic skills labs.
• Communicate learning outcomes for each skill session.
• Motivate students with a professional, responsive attitude to perform at their highest level.
• Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and mentorship in skill performance.
• Maintaining an atmosphere of dignity and propriety conducive to learning in the classroom.
• Assist in setup, breakdown, and inventory of simulation labs, ensuring readiness and cleanliness.
• Reinforce professional behavior, clinical standards, and safety protocols.
• Promote a positive learning environment aligned with Tyler Junior College values.
