Job summary

Geisinger is offering a full-time EMT training program at GWV with classes in Danville and EMS stations. Expect dayshift work, a 40-hour week, and benefits starting on day one.

Upon successful completion, transition into an EMT role with a pay increase and a two-year employment commitment after program completion. Training includes classroom instruction and hands-on clinical exposure, culminating in EMT certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Operate emergency vehicle per Pennsylvania law to ensure safe travel.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, supervisors, and leaders.
• Maintain and report equipment and vehicle deficiencies.
• Accurately document patient care and transportation.
• Complete EMS-related training and safety programs during onboarding.

Job Summary:

Classes Start 1/25/2027 -3 days a week in Danville; 2 days at various EMS stations -Full Time Opportunity -Benefits start day 1

Job Duties:

• Operates the emergency vehicle in compliance with the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code to ensure safe travel.
• Responsible for communication and coordination with communication center dispatchers, supervisors, and other leaders.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment and vehicles and reports any deficiencies.
• Responsible for the accurate documentation of patient care and transportation.
• On the Job Training includes learning: Regulatory Requirements, Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation, Automated External Defibrillators, First Aid, Customer Service, Emergency Medical Technician Didactic Program, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Lifting, Moving, Transferring, Mass Casualty Incident, Prehospital Trauma Life Support, International Trauma Life Support, and Scan Emergence Medical Services.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
• Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Position Details:

Program Highlights Earn $15.00 per hour during the Full Time training program.

Attend classroom instruction and training Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday sessions.

Prepare for and sit for EMT certification upon successful completion of the program.

Transition into an EMT position after certification with a pay increase.

Two-year employment commitment required following program completion.
