Job summary

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is offering a full-time EMT trainee program with day shifts. Earn $15.00 per hour during the training period, with classroom instruction Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays. Upon successful completion, transition to an EMT position with a pay increase.

Program requires a two-year employment commitment following completion, and benefits start day one. Provides training on CPR, AED, and EMS operations while rotating through Danville and EMS stations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• EMT training required / completion of program.

Responsibilities

• Operates emergency vehicle according to PA Vehicle Code and ensures safe travel.
• Communicates and coordinates with dispatchers, supervisors, and leaders.
• Maintains equipment and vehicles and reports deficiencies.
• Documents patient care and transportation accurately.

Job Duties

• Operates the emergency vehicle in compliance with the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code to ensure safe travel.
• Responsible for communication and coordination with communication center dispatchers, supervisors, and other leaders.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment and vehicles and reports any deficiencies.
• Responsible for the accurate documentation of patient care and transportation.

Program Highlights

Earn $15.00 per hour during the Full Time training program. Attend classroom instruction and training Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday sessions. Prepare for and sit for EMT certification upon successful completion of the program. Transition into an EMT position after certification with a pay increase Two-year employment commitment required following program completion.
