Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician for a full-time day shift. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, provide patient care, drive ambulances safely, and collaborate with dispatchers and other responders to ensure timely, quality care.

Requirements include an active Florida EMT license (EMT-B or EMT-A), BLS, high school diploma, and a valid driver's license. A strong commitment to safety and patient service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Licensed EMT in Florida (EMT-Basic or EMT-Advanced) is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care.
• Drives ambulance safely and follows traffic regulations.
• Performs patient assessments and applies treatment per protocols.
• Maintains ambulance and medical equipment in a state of readiness and completes required documentation.

Job Description

Schedule: Three days per week, twelve-hour shifts and rotating weekends

Shift: Days

Follows established policies, procedures, guidelines, medical protocols, safety protocols, and infection control standards. Completes patient care reports, billing reports, and other required documentation per established guidelines. Performs assessments based on training and medical protocols to determine and apply treatment and transport methods. Drives ambulance safely and defensively, obeying traffic rules and regulations. Assists higher-trained personnel in providing effective care. Provides exceptional customer service to patients, families, bystanders, and other response agency personnel. Supports community service and relationship functions as requested by leadership. Maintains ambulance and medical equipment in a state of readiness. Communicates effectively with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other emergency responders. Participates in ongoing training and professional development activities. Adheres to confidentiality and privacy regulations regarding patient information. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to ill and injured patients. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ year experience in the field [Preferred]
