Job summary

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a Test Engineer for the EMSO Platform & Training Branch to support the EA-37B Compass Call platform at the 654 AESS on site in Waco, TX. The role emphasizes test planning, execution, and reporting across electromagnetic spectrum operations.

Qualified candidates will have a STEM degree, 5+ years of test engineering, and experience with EW, radar, and data analysis tools like MATLAB/Python.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• U.S. Dept of War test engineering experience with a focus in Electromagnetic Warfare.
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with data processing and analysis software tools and software languages (e.g. MATLAB/Python).
• Familiarity with EW, radar, and communication systems concepts.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Familiarity with development and operational test (DT/OT) environments and handling of classified test data.

Responsibilities

• Guide team toward a test-driven development mode of execution.
• Develop plans for and facilitate successful execution of SOVT events per SPEG guidance.
• Research and diagnose system failures and isolate source of problems between hardware and software.
• Primary author of technical reports/presentations for projects of low/moderate complexity.
• Compile report input from other researchers and prepare final deliverable.
• Provide EW and test/engineering expertise across full test cycle.
• Conduct pre-test site surveys and coordinate with range, lab, hangar, and chamber personnel.
• Ensure capabilities/limitations of government and contractor test systems are captured in test plans.
• Contribute to developing test plans in coordination with 654 AESS Director of Test and staff.
• Analyze radar, EM, and mission-system data; compare results and investigate behavior.
