Qualifications

• General EMS operations knowledge.
• Ability to learn through training in EMS methods.
• Ability to navigate roads and community layouts.

Responsibilities

• Attend orientation sessions and EMS operations training.
• Provide out-of-hospital care and safe ambulance transport per WV rules.
• Lift and assist patients up to 250 lbs with assistance.
• Hear and respond to information from coworkers, patients, and dispatchers.
• Communicate in English; meet vision requirements for driving.
• Document patient data in WV OEMS record system.
• Inspect and maintain EMS equipment and supplies.
• Respond to callbacks or emergency calls and assist others.
• Maintain professional appearance and station cleanliness; work in teams.
• Perform event standby duties at venues and public events.
• Respond to hazardous material incidents at the first-responder level.
• Understand stress response and HIPAA patient privacy rights.
