Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Battle Creek VA Medical Center, is seeking a skilled trainer for the Environmental Management Service.

The incumbent will provide quality assurance orientation and ongoing training for EMS employees, ensuring understanding of service line missions and performance measures. Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at GS-7 level or higher related to training and instruction.
• Education can substitute for experience (2 full years of graduate education or master\'s degree in related field).
• Combination of education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide orientation for all EMS employees establishing mission, vision, and performance measures.
• Ensure new staff understand environmental management rules, regulations and procedures.
• Serve as primary educator for the EMS service.
• Plan and direct an ongoing employee training program for the service.
• Attend seminars and read professional materials to stay current.
• Develop training needs and programs for staff; work with supervisors as needed.
• Document training completions in the Talent Management System (TMS).
• Evaluate training outcomes and report performance issues to supervisors.
