Qualifications

• Two years' work experience at equal or higher level for which instruction/testing is being administered.
• EMS certification or license for State of Texas at equal or higher level for which instruction/testing is assigned.
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
• Work involves personal contact to share information, build relationships, or solicit cooperation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of instruction, testing, and evaluation of students.
• Knowledge of current national curricula, national accreditation, national registry, and state certification requirements.
• Ability to physically demonstrate required emergency medicine skills.

Responsibilities

• 35% Team teaches during skills exercises and supervises student activity for safety and compliance.
• 35% Instruct small groups of students in various situations involving performance skills.
• 15% Assist with labs—preparation, setup, and cleanup.
• 5% Ensure equipment used for classes is operable.
• 5% Use National Registry skill sheets to evaluate students.
• 5% Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
