Job summary

Wake Technical Community College seeks an EMS Lab Supervisor to oversee simulation activities and assist students in the EMS program. The role includes maintaining high-fidelity simulations, managing student records, and supporting faculty with lab experiences.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate degree and a NC Paramedic or NR Paramedic credential with reciprocity eligibility. On-site position in Wendell, NC with collaboration across EMS faculty and students.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required.
  • Credentialed as a North Carolina Paramedic or a National Registry Paramedic with eligibility for reciprocity to obtain a North Carolina Paramedic credential.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates student performance and assists EMS students with practicing procedures, and communicates outcomes to students and faculty.
  • Designs, develops, and updates high-fidelity simulation activities.
  • Monitors and maintains confidential student records including tracking performance and completion of simulations.
  • Maintains a clean, organized simulation and lab environment.
  • Maintains a current schedule of all EMS simulations and labs (planned activities, supervised practice, remediation).
  • Assists faculty in providing laboratory and simulation experiences.
  • Assists with development, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing high-fidelity patient simulator scenarios.
  • Performs simulation demonstrations for classes and visitors.
  • Assists in ordering lab supplies and equipment.
  • Remains current in best-practice techniques or evidence-based EMS care.
  • Assists faculty with updating procedure guidelines as needed.
  • Maintains and operates all equipment in the lab.
  • Assists with program advisement, retention and recruitment efforts.

Job description

This position is responsible for supervising and assisting EMS students with simulation and lab student learning objectives., To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Requirements
  • Associate degree
